New Mexico – Breaking Bad tour in Albuquerque
Santa Fe. Day began with gym, Rogue cooked breakfast, wonderful to have a healthy routine again.
Super fun tour, 50 miles in RV, 3 hours, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul locations but also great views of Albuquerque. Saw Route 66 diner.
Round trip one hour each way from Santa Fe; came back and Rogue cooked dinner. We pulled out the giant U.S. map to plan our route. He came up with Roswell and San Angelo. Lots of planning together.
May 3, Monday Santa Fe
Gym, Laundry. Rogue cooked another glorious breakfast. Went to Ross, CVS, Santa Fe cafe lunch. Keto. He’s constantly encouraging/motivating me. Then back to making dinner, playing pool, candles, baths, packing, planning. Enjoying this larger space. Planned to watch Breaking Bad, but then he disappeared. Door closed. Not a word. In Vegas I thought we had an agreement. I would go to Scotland. Not end this journey/adventure. Now I really don’t know.
Plan B is a strong plan… I drive back across America alone, listening to books, music, phone calls, blogging, stopping when/where I want. Random places. Appealing thought. I need so little at this point.
Living a fantasy, keeps me on my toes. Always just out of reach.
Roswell, New Mexico
May 4 Drive from Santa Fe to Roswell, New Mexico. Trippy town, so cheesy. UFO International museum and research center. Aliens on everything. Went to the Rib Crib for good BBQ. La Quinta Inn to sleep. Went to Peppers for one drink…. Cut to closing time and new friends! Nick the bartender. Skinny margs. Such fun. When we entered wearing masks, a man shouted across the sea of diners, “Are you a Demo-crat?”
Ended up talking future plans with Rogue. Spoke of me going with him to Edin and have it go full circle from lockdown. Live together in my old Edin apartment, he could pursue music, cook, candles at night, mellow life. We’ll see. Sounds like a dream.
