A Perk of a Nomad post divorce is having my grown children come back to the nest to explore the world with me. While spending nearly six months in London, both my kids visited. My Daughter and I embarked on a whirlwind trip through Scandinavia and the Baltic region, finishing with Greece! (

July 20, 2021 – Leaving Finland today on the ferry to Stockholm.
Great time with Daughter. Getting a groove traveling together.

This is the best way to travel! You get transportation, overnight accommodations, meals, and entertainment for a very economical price. Mostly locals. Daughter and I had the best time people watching across the Baltic Sea. Woke up in Stockholm. The whole ferry experience was fun and comfy.
July 21, Stockholm
It is so freaking hot. 91 degrees. In Sweden! We’re tired and cranky.
We went through the Photography Museum https://www.fotografiska.com/ with O’Neill celeb photos, and the Andy Warhol exhibit which was cool. Then long hot walk to Royal Palace. Lunch at Tradition – Swedish meatballs and potato dumplings with pork. Good but more for a cold winter’s night. Tak rooftop bar and Stockholm under the Stars.
Saw my good friends actress Nathalie and director Mikael. They took us to the Royal Theater. Ate at a restaurant in the seafood market. Daughter got ill with heat stroke. In Sweden!!
July 22, 2022 Friday Stockholm, Djargarden
Met Nathalie this morning for tour around Djargarden. Lovely day. So great with her. We’re such good friends. Again, being a nomad allows me to visit friends around the world.
Met Daughter later at a cafe, then the three of us went to the Vasa Museum https://www.vasamuseet.se/en – a shipwreck from the 1600s. There was the royal boat, a lion carving for the king of Sweden, a warship in route to Poland. It sailed twenty minutes then sank… right where our ferry departs! It was recovered in tact in the 1950s and it’s incredible!
Lunch back at our hotel. Not loving Swedish food. Lots of dill and mayonnaise. Taxi to ferry terminal. So easy. Just walked on and into our cabin. Been sitting in the disco, family friendly and lively. Watching the Baltic Sea go by.
What a great way to travel!
