NEW ORLEANS

Deep into the Road Trip Across America during a pandemic, and post divorce finalizing. Today drove from Houston, Texas to New Orleans. Ready for some Louisiana!

May 24, 2021, Booked five nights in the most amazing Airbnb – Brandywine Sextant. After the long drive to New Orleans, which included making more plans and having good talks with the Rogue, it was an Uber Eats dinner, wine, candles. More “Breaking Bad” after our Albuquerque tour.

Day 1 New Orleans

Explored the French Quarter. Delicious Cajun lunch. Long walks, Bourbon Street, Cafe du Monde beignets. Broke Keto! Fun afternoon (after great morning of gym and catching up). Then Keto Blaze pizza. Finally some space tonight that I think we both are enjoying after being stuck in the car and small hotel rooms together 24/7. https://shop.cafedumonde.com/

Day 2 May 25, 2021

Got groceries for breakfast, sat up at pool. Made calls. Did some business.

Then the Haunted History tour through the French Quarter. Royal St., Bourbon St., Saint Philip St., Baronne St., St. Peter St., Ursulines St. Had a couple of drinks including the famous Voodoo Daiquiri from Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar. Day 3 May 26

The new normal. Rogue cooked me delicious breakfast. Gym. The Cemetery (St. Louis) we were going to visit was closed. A bust. Walked to lunch at Cochon (grilled oysters, etc.). Then Blaze pizza again. Ate outside. He’s ordering Scotland soccer jerseys to watch the matches all summer. How fun.

Loving our routine, the companionship, our day to day laughs, creativity, (him singing all the time, playing guitar), overall vibe, compatibility, vitamins, food, walks, gym, shopping, TV; on the same page.

Day 4 May 27 – Thursday

Ended up with the Rogue’s photo shoot with Crystal all over New Orleans. Awesome. The three of us had champagne afterwards.

Spontaneously went to Larry Flynt’s strip club on Bourbon. Thought it would be a funny experience. We went sober. Last photo shows 7:50 pm. Saw a few dances. Then…6:00 am wake up…. What the heck? We looked at each other from twin beds in one of the bedrooms, fully clothed – no idea what happened or how we got home. No taxi, no Uber record. A mile to walk. Codes to get in pad. A baffling mystery. What happens in New Orleans definitely stays in New Orleans. We don’t even know.
